Tree Lighting at One Paseo
Lighting of a 30-foot Christmas tree begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 30 and festivities continue until 9 p.m. at One Paseo, 3725 Paseo Place, Carmel Valley. Coastal Christmas Del Mar
The Del Mar Fairgrounds hosts a Coastal Holiday Festival with holiday light attractions is open from 4 to 9 p.m. Dec. 13-15; Dec. 20-23 and Dec. 26 at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. Highlights include a walk-through display of more than 1 million lights, “glice” skating, a holiday market, Frosty’s Fun Zone, a holiday wine walk and Santa and Friends. Igloos and fireside lounges can be reserved for cozying with some hot cocoa. S’mores kits, festive food, and drinks will be sold. Tickets will cost $19.95 and $12.95 for children ages 4-12. North Pole by the Sea

The Dec. 7 event kicks off with a tree lighting and brief appearance from Santa at 5 p.m. in The Lumberyard shops courtyard, between H and I streets, followed by the parade at 5:30 p.m. Encinitas’ annual holiday parade, themed “Creativity in Motion,” is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Jungle Bells at San Diego Zoo
The annual holiday event from Dec. 14 to Jan. 5 (except Dec. 24) at the San Diego Zoo, 2920 Zoo Drive, features a wonderland of twinkling lights, live entertainment, music and views of wildlife, along with a magic of Aurora immersive performance about the power of nature with 3D projection mapping, music and lights. Highlights featured at various times, include Reindeer Games, Jingle Brass concerts and a Holiday Troubadour along with Northern Frontier’s Holiday Forest, zoo characters, snow and a visit with Santa. SeaWorld Christmas Celebration
The event runs from Nov. 15 to Jan. 5 with Christmas shows, and the debut of the Happy Harbor Holiday Live Character Show. The SkyTower will be adorned with sparkling lights and there will be a tunnel of lights and music. The new Mrs. Claus Christmas Parade with her merry elves will be daily. Highlights include A Stocking Full of Soul night of live music, singing and dancing and A Christmas Wish fireworks show Dec. 14 and Dec. 31 along with Donner and Blitzen’s Lazer Light Show nightly. Pearl Harbor 83rd Anniversary observance
American Legion San Dieguito Post 416 will observe Pearl Harbor Day 2024 with a memorial service at 9:55 a.m. on Dec. 7, at Cottonwood Creek Veterans Park, at the intersection of Encinitas Blvd. and Vulcan Ave., Encinitas. Post 416 Legionnaires will conduct a memorial ceremony commemorating the 83rd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and lay a wreath in honor of the 2,403 service men and women who died on that Sunday morning in 1941. Local Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will assist the Post in the Observance which will last approximately one hour.
The Country Friends Annual Holiday Tea Luncheon
The Country Friends will hold its Annual Holiday Tea Luncheon on Dec. 4, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Westin Carlsbad Resort and Spa. Event attendees will have the opportunity to sip champagne while they shop and mingle, followed by a brief program and luncheon. Win opportunity prizes donated by participating boutiques and local businesses. Nearly a dozen vendors will offer fashion, accessories, handbags, jewelry, and holiday gifts. The funds raised from the Annual Holiday Tea will benefit The Country Friends’ Chosen Charities. Bing Crosby Season events at Del Mar Racetrack: Beer & Cider Fest, Toys for Tots

Holidays events kick off at Legoland
There will be holiday treats, twinkling lights, live entertainment and some snowfall from Nov. 23 through Jan. 5 at Legoland California, One Legoland Drive. Visitors can see the park’s 30-foot Lego tree decked with lights and Lego ornaments built out of more than 350,000 Lego and Duplo bricks. Photos can be taken with life-size festive Lego models or costumed characters such as a Lego Santa, a toy soldier, a gingerbread man and elf characters. The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights returns on Dec. 8 and 15 for its 54th running. San Diego Bay Parade of Lights announces the theme for the 2024 holiday boat parade, ‘Peace on Earth.’ This year marks the 54th annual Parade of Lights, a free event and long-established holiday tradition in the San Diego Bay. Encinitas Turkey Trot
Thursday, Nov. 28 will mark the 10th anniversary of a favorite Thanksgiving morning tradition, the Encinitas Turkey Trot. Proceeds from race registration will support veterans through the nonprofit organization VANC.
